Pre-K 3 Curriculum
Pre-Writing
- tracing lines (vertical, horizontal, wavy, curved, slanted, and circles
- exposure to and introducing name writing
Literature and Language
- exposure to books, storytelling, and poetry
- discussion of the literature that was read
Reading Readiness
- patterns, same/different, matching, opposites, go-togethers, following directions, recognizing their name in print
Fine Motor
- cutting, tearing, bead lacing, small manipulatives
- playing with play-doh to strengthen hand muscles
Sensory Experience
- playing in various textures at their table and in the sensory table: shaving cream, pudding, beans, rice, sand, etc.
Creative Art
- using various mediums to create and construct projects
Creative Writing
- dictating "stories" to be written by the teacher
- illustrating their stories
Music and Movement
- moving their bodies to various rhythms while listening to music
- stopping their bodies and "freezing" when music stops
Religion
- learning about Jesus and His love for us
- learning about important biblical figures using Bible stories and activities
Physical Education
- practicing/using gross motor skills with our P.E. teacher
Music
- exposure to the various instrument, sounds, notes, songs, and rhythms with our Music teacher
Self Help Skills
- taking off/putting on coat and backpack
