Service

Annunciation has many service programs. We welcome your participation and support!

Christmas Giving Tree

The whole parish gets involved with seeing that needy children and families have a Merry Christmas. Four local agencies serving the needy are the recipients of your generosity. Our Ladies Inn, St. Vincent de Paul, South Side Day Nursery, Feed My People, and Birthright distribute our food and gifts. Most of the agencies direct the gifts to the parents to give to their children because they may not be able to give their children gifts at this holiday season.

Feed the Homeless

Salads & Casseroles for St. Patrick’s Center: We are waging the war against hunger with our weapons of packages of salad, fresh vegetables, ranch dressing and casseroles. Extra gifts of packages of cookies or a loaf of bread are also appreciated. Drop-off is the Monday before the second Tuesday of the month. For more information contact Marty Useted or Kristin Tegethoff.

Peregrine Society

This group is involved in making comfort shawls and pillows for home cancer patients. Meetings are on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am in the Klocker House. For more information contact Cathy LaBarge.

Pro-Life Committee

This committee works for protection of the unborn and supports all life issues. Parishioners may participate in the Pro-Life Day of Prayer, organizing Birthright "showers" for women experiencing crisis pregnancies, organize raffles and other fundraising events to help support "Our Lady's Inn", a home for women who are pregnant and homeless. An annual highlight is participation in the "Life Chain."

St. Vincent DePaul Society

The Annunciation St. Vincent DePaul conference provides food and financial assistance to families in need in our parish boundaries. Our team meets with families to determine how we can best support their needs. Through our "Yellow Bag Sunday” drives, parishioners donate meals and personal care items. Any additional donations are distributed to local food pantries. We also have Thanksgiving and Christmas programs so that everyone can experience joy during the holiday season. Parishioners can donate through our monthly envelope or online. For more information contact Peggy Beckley.
